As a proud millinial, I feel we are well into this stage of remakes and Hollywood being done bringing forth new ideas.
What does it take to get a new idea brought to Hollywood?
I think that in the history of movies, Hollywood remakes what did well in the box office previously. That point is obvious.
But so many of these remakes fail. We have recently seen that Lilo & Stitch has done incredibly well, which in my opinion was a surprise. There was a lot of controversy with this remake because of the actors playing the characters and several other factors.
I was surprised to see it do well because I regularly watch the original with my kiddos and we are used to seeing it in the early 2000’s animation. Seeing it as a live action is something I NEVER thought would happen, but- here we are.
At what point will the remakes run out?
I think the answer to that is probably never. All they will do is remake the remakes, and remake those and so on.
Every now and then we will have new ideas like Sinners pop up and show out at the box office, but for the most part, this seems kind of rare now, or at least once every few months.
For the most part, a lot of this could come from film makers actually having the budge to get in theaters.

The reason I feel like this movie will do so well is because It did so well in 2003. I cannot believe that was so long ago! I was a literal child! This movie was so entertaining and at the time I remember that the world just wanted so much more from Lindsay Lohan, and we ate this movie up!
The reason Freakier Friday will work
This movie technically has a certain geared audience, and even though that is the goal for every movie- to have an audience that cares no matter what, some movies fail to do this well.
Although, this movie is pretty old, it doesn’t feel like it. The original (2003) did such a great job of making it’s audiences feel welcomed and very family based. It was also funny and we always love to see Jamie Lee Curtis in just about anything. We didn’t ask for just about any of these remakes, but this one just works. It may feel a little washed because it’s been done soooo many times, but we have to admit it-
We love movies that make us feel good or like a kid again
